Dr. Na. Damodara Shetty (Nada), born on 2 August 1951 at Naikapu in Kumble of Kasaragod district, is a retired professor of Kannada. He completed his M.A. and Ph.D. and served for four years as a teacher at Nelaji High School in Ballamavatti, South Kodagu. Later, he worked for thirty-six years in the Kannada Department of St. Aloysius College, Mangalore, holding positions such as Lecturer, Reader, Professor, and Head of the Department. His Ph.D. thesis titled Muddanana Shabda Pratibhe was awarded by Mangalore University in 1998 and was later published by the Kannada Sahitya Parishat, Bengaluru, in 2004. Through his long and dedicated service, Dr. Shetty has made a lasting contribution to Kannada studies and has inspired generations of students and scholars.
